Reviews "My Kitchen was a popular casual eatery located on Austin Street in Forest Hills in the 1980s. They served light Mediterranean fare in contemporary craftsy surroundings. But businesses come and go on Austin Street and, sadly, My Kitchen came and went... When we saw the sign that a new incarnation of the original was opening on Metropolitan Avenue, it was like running into an old friend with whom one has lost contact... The new My Kitchen is sleek, light and airy. The façade is a series of French doors that presumably will be left open, weather permitting, and likewise there is a rear garden for al fresco dining. The dominant decorative feature is a series of colorful silk screen panels mounted at odd angles. The overall effect is inviting and informal. My Kitchen is a welcome addition to the nabe for reasonably priced, casual fare. The tasting menu is a great bargain and a bit of an adventure. The abbreviated wine lists offers only four reasonably priced choices: cabernet, merlot, pinot grigio or chardonnay, by the glass or the bottle-all very drinkable. They also allow diners to bring their own bottle with no uncorking fee. What a deal! My Kitchen, welcome back."
