Our History
My Kitchen began as a popular eatery on Austin Street in 1980. It was a local favorite, serving up crowd favorites such as Shrimp Paella, Black Angus Sirloin Steak and Chicken in French Dijon Sauce.
From there, owner and executive chef Galik Amberson ventured on to the culinary capital of the world, Manhattan. There, he opened up four Manhattan restaurants. Each restaurant was a great success, with lunchtime crowds lining up for gastronomic delights from the outdoor grill.
As 2007 rolled around, it was time for My Kitchen to return home to Forest Hills, which has seen a much evolved culinary landscape. This time, it opens on the new Restaurant Row of Forest Hills, Metropolitan Avenue. With a base menu of palate pleasing dishes, My Kitchen features a list of seasonal favorites, planned and prepared thoughtfully each day.
My Kitchen will also feature outdoor dining with seating for 100 in warmer weather. The Cajun Grill is the main feature in the garden. Diners can look forward to culinary delights such as barbequed shrimp, pork, steaks, chicken, vegetables and fruits.
A wonderful addition to Forest Hills will be My Kitchen's Banquet Hall, right next door to the restaurant. This space, which seats 70-100 guests, is ideal for weddings, birthdays, anniversaries or any special occasion.
